Bookmarks

Learn how to add, sort, edit, favorite, move, import, and remove saved links.

Add a bookmark

Select Add bookmark from All items, Favorites, Unsorted, or a collection view.

URL

Required. If the protocol is missing, FavLock adds https:// before saving.

Title

Required. Enter the title you want FavLock to display for the bookmark.

Collection

Optional. A bookmark belongs to one collection at a time and can be moved later.

Tags

Optional. Add existing or new tags, separated with commas. A bookmark can have up to 10.

Sort your bookmarks

Use the Sort control above your library to change the order of saved links.

  1. 1

    Choose an order

Sort by date saved (newest or oldest first), name (A–Z or Z–A), website (A–Z or Z–A), or Most used. Most used ranks bookmarks by how often you open them in FavLock.
  2. 2

    Focus on bookmarks

In All items or a collection containing different types of content, turn on Bookmarks only to use website sorting. Choosing Most used turns on Bookmarks only automatically.
  3. 3

    Bring favorites forward

Turn on Favorites first to place favorite bookmarks above the rest while keeping your chosen order within each group. In Favorites, you can also sort by date favorited, newest or oldest first.

Use bookmark cards

Open

Select a bookmark card to open its URL in a new browser tab.

Favorite

Use the heart to add or remove a bookmark from Favorites. The change takes effect immediately.

Move

Open the collection control on the card and choose a destination, or move it to no collection.

Edit

Change the title, collection, or tags. The original URL is not changed in edit mode.

Trash and recovery

Deleted bookmarks, documents, todos, and saved articles can be restored for 7 days on Free and 30 days on other plans, or deleted forever immediately.

Import bookmarks

FavLock accepts bookmark HTML exports from Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, Safari ZIP exports, and exports from Pocket and Raindrop.io.

  1. 1

    Export your bookmarks

Save an HTML export from Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, a ZIP export from Safari, or a CSV or HTML export from Raindrop.io. For Pocket, use the export you downloaded before Pocket shut down.
  2. 2

    Open Import bookmarks

Open Data transfer in the sidebar, choose Import bookmarks, then choose the export file you saved.
  3. 3

    Review and import

FavLock creates matching collections and subcollections, adds tags when the export includes them, imports valid links, and reports any invalid entries it skipped.

Export instructions by browser

Chrome

Open More (⋮) → Bookmarks and lists → Bookmark Manager, then open More (⋮) and select Export bookmarks.

Edge
