Which one fits you

Raindrop.io is likely the better fit if

  • You share collections with other people or publish public pages.
  • You want native mobile and desktop apps.
  • You need unlimited bookmarks on a free plan.
  • You want AI features or permanent copies of every saved page.

FavLock is likely the better fit if

  • You want bookmark titles and URLs encrypted before they leave your browser.
  • You want documents, tasks, and learning Lists beside your links.
  • You prefer browser extensions and client code you can inspect.
  • You are moving a Pocket or Raindrop.io export into a private library.

Encryption in the browser has trade-offs. FavLock cannot read your library, so it cannot recover it if you lose every recovery option, and search depends on your own device. The security model explains what is protected and what the service can still see.

Moving from Raindrop.io

Export a CSV from Raindrop.io, then import it from Data transfer in FavLock. Folders become collections and tags stay attached, and you see a preview before anything is saved. Notes, excerpts, highlights, and saved dates are not imported.
