FavLock Raindrop.io import

Bring your Raindrop.io library with you.

Export your bookmarks from Raindrop.io as CSV or HTML, then import them into FavLock. Your collections, nested collections, and tags come with them.

FavLock reads the file in your browser and shows a preview before anything is saved.

Three steps, with a preview before anything changes.

  1. Step 1

    Export from Raindrop.io

For your whole library, open Settings → Backups in Raindrop.io, choose Create new, and download the CSV or HTML file when it's ready. For one collection, open it, choose Export, and pick CSV or HTML.

  2. Step 2

    Open Data transfer

Sign in to FavLock, open Data transfer in the sidebar, and choose Import bookmarks.

  3. Step 3

    Review, then import

Choose the file. FavLock shows the links, duplicates, collections, and tags it found before anything is written. Start the import when the preview looks right.

What comes across

How Raindrop.io data appears in FavLock
In Raindrop.ioIn FavLock
Bookmark and titleA bookmark
CollectionsCollections
Nested collectionsSubcollections. Deeper levels are combined into one name, such as Engineering › Frontend
Unsorted (CSV export)No collection, so the bookmark appears in Unsorted
TagsTags, matched to tags you already have regardless of capitalization
Links already in FavLockYour choice: skip, keep both, or overwrite

Notes, excerpts, highlights, cover images, favorites, and uploaded files aren't imported. Raindrop.io's TXT export isn't supported; choose CSV or HTML.

Encrypted before it's stored

FavLock reads your export in the browser and doesn't upload the file. Bookmark titles, URLs, collection names, and tag names are encrypted on your device before they're saved.

Checked against your plan first

A Free account holds up to 1,000 bookmarks with unlimited collections and tags. FavLock checks the import against your allowance before it writes anything, and links that aren't web addresses are listed as invalid instead of imported.

Good to know

Should I export CSV or HTML?

Either works. CSV is a good default: FavLock reads Raindrop.io's collection and tag columns directly and leaves Unsorted bookmarks without a collection.

Are nested collections kept?

Yes. FavLock supports a collection and a subcollection. A deeper path, such as Work › Engineering › Frontend, becomes the Work collection with an Engineering › Frontend subcollection.

What happens to my tags?

Each tag becomes a FavLock tag. Tags that match ones you already use are reused instead of duplicated. A bookmark can have up to 10 tags, so any extra tags are skipped and counted in the preview.

What if the import stops partway?

FavLock remembers its progress. Choose the same file again and select Reconcile and resume. FavLock checks what was already saved before it continues, so nothing is added twice.
